Faster acceleration due to the even distribution of electric motors and this allows for a higher power output.

Sealed gangways connecting one passenger car to another passenger car allows for protection against external debris and weather. They are equipped with vigilance devices that monitor the train driver's consciousness and automatically bring the train to a safe halt if the driver doesn't respond.

Sustainability is a great perk offered by Electric Multiple Units. They don't have engines that release toxic emissions and instead they rely on overhead power lines which allow electricity to flow inside the train and power the electric traction motors.

Electric Multiple Units are quieter than other diesel trains due to the lack of an engine. This allows for a more comfortable ride for the passengers and the residents that live in the vicinity of rail lines. Another feature is that a lack of an engine allows for increased seating to be introduced. This helps in reducing overcrowding on busy routes.

Shinkansen
This train is also called the bullet train due to it being a high-speed train. In Japan, Electric Multiple Units are used for long distance journeys and are designed for high-speed services. These trains on the Tokaido Shinkansen line can reach speeds of up to 285 km/h.

Another variation that is present throughout Europe. This allows for faster acceleration and deceleration due to the high frequency of stops. While they are slower than the Shinkansen, they act as trains that connect further ends of large cities with their large capacity.

In North America, the introduction of Electric Multiple Units in commuter rail was quite recent. Their implementation has led to more cleaner air as they replaced diesel locomotives that produced significant pollution. Larger capacity has allowed for more space for bike storage and seating.

Metro Train
In Australia, these trains have allowed for greater connectivity throughout Melbourne and its suburbs. Due to the extremely dry climate, these trains have more powerful cooling systems that are designed to keep passengers comfortable even during the driest months of the year.
